• Picnic at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage

anne-hathaways-cottage-cotswolds-concierge (7)Yesterday we went to the wonderful Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in Stratford-upon-Avon. Anne Hathaway was married to William Shakespeare and the 500-year-old cottage is where Anne Hathaway grew up and lived when she was courted by the poet.

The lovely people at  Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust had arranged a super Summer Picnic at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and the weather was perfect for it.

With musical entertainment, barbecue, games, face painting and fun family activities, this was the perfect excuse to go and experience this historic property and stunning gardens in Stratford-upon-Avon.

We loved it at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage… the gardens are truly stunning and the house, the history and the atmosphere is a fantastic experience. We learned about life in the 15- and 1600’s, about his relationship with Anne Hathaway and about the works of William Shakespeare.

We visited the cafe across the road afterwards and apart from delicious cakes and drinks, a lovely outdoors area at the cafe, there are lovely little woods and a stream that makes for a fun trip for the young explorer.

We’re happy to recommend a trip to AnneHathaway’s Cottage – we sure will be back and we’re delighted to have gone as part of our #SummerOf16 in the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon.
